Short Bio / Excerpt:
Christoph Alsleben (often spelled Alsleben) is a highly accomplished international finance executive, regional CFO, and transformation leader. Known for his extensive expertise in strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and operational scaling within the insurance and brokerage sectors, he has built a prominent corporate career navigating complex financial landscapes across both Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Alsleben’s professional journey is anchored by a rigorous academic foundation in economic theory and business management in Germany. He pursued his higher education at the prestigious University of Münster, graduating as a Diplom-Kaufmann. Driven by deep analytical curiosity, he then advanced his research at the Universities of Bochum and Dortmund, earning a Ph.D. in Economics. This blend of classical economic scholarship and executive business training set the stage for his rapid ascent in international corporate finance.
His early corporate career was defined by a decade-long trajectory at the global insurance giant AXA. Beginning in 2005, Alsleben took on high-impact strategic and financial controlling roles across Paris and Germany. Recognizing his knack for regional growth, AXA deployed him to Asia in 2015, where he served as the Regional Head of Strategy and Financial Planning for AXA Asia, and subsequently as the Post-Merger Integration Lead for AXA Philippines. He followed these successes by joining Prudential Hong Kong as the Senior Director of Finance, orchestrating critical automation and efficiency overhauls.
In 2019, Alsleben achieved further executive prominence when he was appointed the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Asia at Lockton Companies, the world's largest independent insurance brokerage. Over a highly impactful five-year tenure ending in 2024, he repositioned the regional finance department into a core strategic engine. His leadership oversaw large-scale greenfield expansions, digital transformations, and complex post-merger integrations across diverse Asian markets, solidifying his reputation as a trusted, collaborative, and cross-culturally adept executive.
Constantly pushing the boundaries of his own professional growth, Alsleben embarked on an elite academic chapter by joining the prestigious Stanford University MSx program as a Master of Science candidate. Fluidly multilingual in German, English, French, and progressing in Mandarin, he continues to bridge global corporate networks with modern academic leadership. Today, his legacy stands as an archetype of the modern, purpose-driven global CFO—equally skilled at driving technological infrastructure as he is at building high-performing, international teams.
